Leonard P. Federspiel, 77, of Raymond, died Sept. 6 at St. Francis Hospital in Waterloo.
Born Dec. 18, 1896, at Gilbertville, he was the son of Peter and Mary Schares Federspiel.
He was married to Margaret Schneider at Gilbertville on Jan. 26, 1920. She preceded him in death on Nov. 12, 1946. He later married Maxine Schmitt on July 17, 1956 at Barclay Catholic Church in Raymond.
Survivors include his widow, Maxine, three sons, William of Jesup, LeRoy of Independence and Gerald of Washburn; three daughters, Mrs. Louis (Mildred) Werner of Eagle Center, Mrs. Ronald (Eileen) Weber of Jesup and Mrs. Richard (Rosemary) Schares of Jesup; three stepchildren, Robert Schmitt of Garden Grove, Calif., Richard Schmitt of Waterloo and Mrs. Melvin (Rosalie) Fischels of rural Waterloo; 30 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Louis Federspiel of Waterloo and one sister, Mrs. Andrew...
