LIFE LONG GILBERTVILLE RESIDENT DIES AT AGE 56
Peter J. Demuth, a life-long resident of Gilbertville, IA, died at his home there Wednesday, Jan. 3, 1940, at the age of 56. His death was caused by dropsy.
He was born June 23, 1883, the son of Peter and Ellen Demuth, at Gilbertville. On April 26, 1911, he was united in marriage to Anna Stubenrauch, who with the four children, survives to mourn his death.
The children are: Mrs. Robert Becker, of Waterloo, Route 6; Mrs. Francis Fischels, of Gilbertville, and Carl and George, both of Gilbertville. Also surviving are one brother, Bert Demuth of Pipestone, MN; four sisters, Mrs. John Arend, of Trosky, MN, Mrs. Henry Schmit, Waterloo, Mrs. William Huber, Calmar,and Mrs. Leo Wagner, Gilbertville, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted in Immaculate Conception church at Gilbertville at 9:30 a.m. Friday, with interment at Gilbertville.
