DELEGARDELLE, DELAGARDELLE, FEDERSPIEL, NISIUS

Gilbertville, Iowa - Funeral services for Frank Delagardelle, 76, of 1516 4th St., Gilbertville, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church here. The Rev. Richard Krapf, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Delagardelle died at 11:40 p.m. Friday at St. Francis Hospital, of cancer.

There will be Rosary services at Oppold Funeral home at 3 p.m. today; at 7:30 p.m. today by the Foresters; and at 8 p.m. today by the parish; also Rosary Services tomorrow at 3 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

He was engaged in farming near Gilbertville until his retirement in 1963.

Mr. Delagardelle was born April 7, 1896 near Gilbertville the son of John and Gertrude Nisius Delagardelle. He married Pauline Federspiel on November 14, 1917 in Gilbertville. She died on December 24, 1927. He later married Mary Nie in Gilbertville on February 11, 1930.

Mr. Delagardelle was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville, the Holy Name Society; a 50-year member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, was a veteran of World War I, serving in the Army; a member of the American Legion Post No. 714, and a member of World War I Barracks No. 1276.

Surviving are his wife, eight sons, Willard, John and Thomas, all of rural Jesup, Leo and Norman of Gilbertville, Irvin, 213 Beverly Drive, Waterloo, and Paul and Clem at home; seven daughters, Mrs. Francis Schares, Mrs. Ted Even, and Mrs. Rich Schmitz, all of rural Waterloo; and Mrs. Art Roethler and Mrs. LeRoy Schmit of rural Jesup; Mrs. Thomas Mullen of Gilbertville and Betty at home; two brothers, Philip and John of Gilbertville; one sisters, Mrs. John Welbes of 1106 W. Third St., Waterloo; 54 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, one son, Joseph, one daughter Esther, and one brother, Matt.
Those who wish may give memorials to the Don Bosco Memorial Fund.
