BORNONG, DEMUTH, SCHMITZ

Frank Bornong, 53, cashier of Gilbertville Savings Bank for the last 21 years and closely identified with other community interests, died suddenly last Thursday at his home in Gilbertville, of a heart attack. He had been ill for 2 years.

Before he entered the bank, Mr. Bornong was associated with his brother in Bornong Implement Co. Service, also as town clerk for 20 years.
Mr. Bornong was born in 1887, near Gilbertville, the son of John Peter Bornong and lived in the Gilbertville area all his life. He married Catherine Demuth in 1911.

He is survived by his widow, four children: Joe, La Porte City, Francis, Mary and Bernard at home; his mother, Mary Bornong, Gilbertville; two brothers, John and Matt, Gilbertville; two sisters, Mrs. Nick Lavenz, Jesup; and Mrs. Nick Clarens, Sanborn, North Dakota, and one grandson. Two children died in infancy and his father, sister, and a brother preceded him.

Casket bearers were Wlm J. Reuter, John Lavenz, Ben Demuth, Leo J. Wagner, and Vincent Wagner.
