Gilbertville, Iowa - Michael Ambrosy, 77, a farmer near Gilbertville, for more than 50 years, died at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the home of his son, Peter, east of Gilbertville. He had been ill for six weeks from complications incident to advanced age.

The funeral was conducted at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville by the pastor, Rev. William Cremer. Burial was in the cemetery at Gilbertville. Pall bearers were John Bornong, John Fischels, Jacob Schares, Jacob Schmitz, Matt Stiels and William Weber.

Mr. Ambrosy was born in Germany May 8, 1857 and came to America when a youth. He was married to Miss Mary Kirsch of Gilbertville. She died Sept. 5, 1927.

Two children, Rev. Michael L. Ambrosy, of Oelwein, and Miss Mathilda Ambrosy, preceded him in death.

Nine children who survive: Mrs. Catherine Herrig, Alton, Iowa; Nicholas, Independence, Iowa; Mrs. Hubert Stuckartt, Stayton, Oregon; Sister M. Michaels, Clara City, Minnesota; Sister M. Annunciate, of Laurium, Michigan; Bert, Alton, Iowa; Joseph, La Porte City; Ms. Paul Zewiske, Fairbank, Iowa, and Peter, Gilbertville.

A brother and two sisters also survive: John, LaCrosse, Wis.; Mrs. Catherine Kirsch, 1315 Fourth St. West, and Elizabeth, Chicago.
