Gary Hatch, 82, of Hudson, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, May 15, 2025.

He was born May 30, 1942, in Waterloo, son of Ben and Martha (Neubauer) Hatch. He graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1960 and attended Winona State University. He married Winnie A. Vogel on January 11, 1964, at Grace Lutheran Church in Waterloo.

Gary worked in auto parts for over 60 years as a salesman and delivery driver. Over the years he worked for O'Reilly Auto Parts, ESCO Auto Supply, Barron's, and most recently with Community Motors in Cedar Falls.

He was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Hudson, and was a former member of the Waterloo Elks Lodge BPOE #290. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of many golf courses in the area. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and meticulously tending to his garden.

Gary is survived by his wife, Winnie Hatch of Hudson; five children, Mike (Deb) Hatch of Lawson, MO, Kelly (Gabriel) Schwartz of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Deb (Tami) Hatch of Murfreesboro, TN, Laura Hatch of Waterloo, and Julie (Joe) Tyler of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Steve Hatch; and sister-in-law, Cathie Hatch.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Hudson. Visitation for one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
