A.V. Hunt Passes
At Local Hospital

Albert Verne Hunt, also popularly known as A.V. Hunt of rural Hallock passed away the Kittson War Veterans Memorial Hospital here at 2:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6th, 1965. He had reached the age of 78 years and 6 months.

Mr. Hunt’s heath had been failing perhaps to some extent for the past couple of years but late months his health failed rapidly.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert L. Hunt and was born August 22, 1886 at La Porte City, Iowa. He attended school at LaPorte.

He was united in marriage August 9th 1916 to Miss Clara Clausen. Three children were born to them, Verne, Jean and Allison, all of them of Hallock and who survive him. He is also survived by his wife. Other survivors are 23 grandchildren and a sister Miss Lois Hunt of Los Angelos. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dr. Hunt, a practitioner of Medicine.

Mr. Hunt spent his early years at the place of his birth in Iowa. He operated an elevator at Angus, MN, just a short way south of town. Then he came to Hallock in 1920 when he bought land her and lived in Hallock township where he continued to reside up to three years ago when he moved to Hallock property. He farmed all the years he lived here, from 1920 to the time of his death and he was active in the business of farming up to a few months ago when his health prevented him from his usual activity. His boys farmed with him.

Mr. Hunt was a very active man during his farm life, was intensely interested in his work. He was very favorably know here and was recognized as an able and efficient farmer. He and his wife raised a very credible family. His farm operations were very extensive and he operated quality land in this county.

The funeral was held Tuesday of this week, March 9th from St. John’s Episcopal Church, the Rev. Clifford Ott officiating. Mrs. Simon Elllefson, church organist, presided at the organ and the church choir sang at the service.

His remains will be laid to rest in Greenwood cemetery after spring arrives.

Pallbearers were Orville Pearson, Emory Cameron, Wesley Sugden, Vincent Johnson, Charles Cederholm and Virgil Guth. Honorary pallbearers were Luke Younggren , George Hugill, Edward Moberg. Ote Becken and William Ash.
