—A second death by accident on the Waterloo and Cedar Falls trolley line— told about in “Neighborhood News,” this week — occurred Tuesday. The traveling man named Morton, mentioned in the item, was the victim.

Source: Decorah Republican Oct. 14, 1897 P 4 C 3, 4Cedar Falls, Oct. 11.—A trolley car, loaded with passengers, on the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Rapid Transit line today was precipitated over a thirty-foot embankment, three miles from the city. Ora Myers, traveling man, was killed outright. W. H. Morton, traveling for Taylor & Parrotte, hats and gloves, Chicago, is lying in an unconscious condition at Tremont house. Skull is depressed and otherwise seriously injured. Injuries may prove fatal. Thirteen others were cut, bruised, etc. This is the first accident the road has had.
