Alisa Jo Thomas, 59, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, September 17, 2020 at UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born May 11, 1961, in Waterloo, daughter of Donald C. and Marlene M. Burget Young. Alisa attended Expo Alternative High School and later received her GED in 1986.

She married Thomas Cunningham in 1983; he passed in 1986. Alisa married Keith Thomas in 1995; they later divorced. Later, she met her Life partner Philip Houston; he passed December 16, 2009. Alisa was member of Calvary Evangelistic Center in Independence.

Alisa is survived by four sons, Thomas (Audrey) Young of Waterloo‚ Nathaniel Cunningham of Waterloo‚ Bruce Thomas of Sioux City‚ and Jerome Thomas of Cedar Falls; daughter, Lavetta Cunningham of Minnesota; four step-children, Linchelle Houston of Waterloo‚ Phillip Houston, II of Des Moines‚ Mikel Houston of Colorado, and Bernice Houston of Des Moines‚ 13 grandchildren, Dariann, Dylan, Diamond, Destiny, Aaliyah, Jayden, Lexus, Natali, La’Mhiyah, Elijah, Ameliah, Mari’Auna, and Malaysia; two great-grandchildren, Freya and Kai’von; four brothers, Deon (Maxine) Moore of Hazelton‚ Stuart (Bobbie) Young of Waterloo‚ Brock Young of Tama‚ and Jessie Young of Waterloo; two sisters, Carletta (Dale) Ginther of Jesup‚ and Jean (Jerome) Wilson of Waterloo, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Thomas Cunningham; life partner, Phillip Houston, I; one grandson; and one niece.
