Mavis' Obituary--

Mavis was born on August 21, 1935, in Rushford Minnesota to Kermit and Alma Anderson. She attended Rushford High School, graduating in 1953.

Right after high school, Mavis married Donald Jameson and moved Heidelberg, Germany. Mavis lived in Heidelberg with Don for two years and during that time she had their daughter, Kathy. Mavis and the family then moved the family to Cedar Falls, Iowa where she lived and enjoyed the rest of her life.

Mavis was always very generous and willing to work hard to provide a gathering place for family and friends. She ran a day care for many years and also worked as a team with Don in fixing up houses and rental units. Mavis adored her faithful and loving husband. Both Mavis and Don enjoyed the pleasure of the river house on Lake Delhi with lots of snowmobiling and boating. They traveled extensively in their car and RV covering 49 of the 50 states. Mavis loved to travel to Europe and Norway but was always glad to return to their lovely home and family.

Mavis lived for parties and special occasions where she could spend time with her family and friends. She had a keen sense of hospitality and always wanted each and every person have fun and feel welcome in her house.

Mavis was an active member of community. She attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, where she served as a helping hand on church council. She also delivered meals on wheels.

Mavis is survived by daughter Kathern spouse David; son Thomas spouse April; sister Bonnie Kinstler; four grandchildren, Travis, Angela, Gregory, and Brianna; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, and brothers Kenny Anderson and Donnie Anderson.

Mavis was always inquisitive about family and friends and loved to talk with you about all the minute details. Mavis was generous with praise, caring, smart, patient, and fun, with a warm and giving heart. May God richly bless the memory of Mavis Jameson.

Visitation will be from 5:30-7:00 pm on Friday, September 4, 2020, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Family asks attendees to bring and wear masks. Private funeral services and burial will be held on September 5. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Ronald McDonald House or St. Jude’s Children's Hospital and condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.

May God richly bless the memory of Mavis Jameson.
