Biography

Mary Jane (Tabor) Proctor was born February 12, 1929 on her family farm in Baldwin, Iowa.

She died peacefully in her sleep at home on July 7, 2020, age 91.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister, her husband Fred, and two daughters, Susan and Kimberly.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Keven), and her sons Steve (Jan) and John (Pilar). Jane has four grandchildren: Nate, Kelsey, Allan, and Paola

Jane always considered herself a farm girl at heart. After spending her youth on the family farms north of Baldwin, she graduated from high school and then went on to Cornell College in Mount Vernon. She subsequently went to nursing school in Iowa City, where she met the love of her life, Fred Proctor. When she finished school, she and Fred started their respective careers in Waterloo, Iowa.

Jane had a passion for nursing, and her family knew that she was happiest when she was working night shifts at one of the local hospitals. She devoted her life energy to her family.

Jane’s children were usually scattered around the country and she so looked forward to taking road trips with Fred to see her children and grandchildren. Jane had countless friends in Waterloo, and there was never a harsh word said by anyone about her. We know that she will be sorely missed by all of her loving family and friends.

Jane's family would like to express their deepest appreciation to all of the people who have called to say how much they have loved Jane through the years.

Services:
Due to COVID – 19, there will be a private family celebration of life.

Cemetery:
Interment at the Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials:
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be direct to Cedar Valley Hospice and the Red Cross.
