Marian Louise Quandt

Marian Louise Quandt, 80 of Waterloo, Iowa, died on June 1, 2020, at Rosewood Estate in Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born March 18, 1940, in Chickasaw County. Marian was the daughter of Richard and Maxine (Boos) Olson. She went to Waterloo West High School and later Hawkeye Community College for her LPN.

On June 15, 1957, she was united in marriage to Paul Quandt at the Grace Lutheran Church in Waterloo. They were married almost 63 years. She primarily worked retail but pursued her nursing license.

Marian was very outgoing and loved to laugh. She had an infectious laugh. Her sons nicknamed her “Weezy” and it stuck. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and really enjoyed spending time with the family.

Marian collected angels and enjoyed history and going to museums. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Paul, and loved to hear him sing to her as well. Marian was known to be a bit of a prankster, but ended up being the prankee instead a lot of the time.

She is survived by a husband Paul Quandt; daughters, Roberta “Bert” (Jeff) Seamans, Rhonda (Everett “EJ”) Kennedy, and Bonnie Quandt; a son, Roger (Lois) Quandt; a sister, Shirley (Don) Duke, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Rick; a brother, Donald Olson; and two sisters, Roberta & Norma Jean Olson.

Memorials may be directed to family OR Cedar Valley Hospice. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Cedar Valley Hospice and also the Rosewood Estates.
