—Thomas Shillington, born in Ireland October 16, 1799, died on his farm near Dunkerton, Blackhawk county, Jan. 7, 1900, aged 100 years, 2 months and 22 days, after an illness of only a few weeks.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows a photo of his gravestone in Lester Township Cemetery in Dunkerton and the year of his birth shows 1797{?} and year of death as 1899; however, there is a notation that other local newspapers mentioned his death in January 7, 1900.
