Ruth Shepard

Ruth Shepard, 94, of Waterloo, Iowa, passed away on May 11, 2020 at Friendship Village (Pavillion) from COVID-19.

Ruth was born in Iowa on May 1, 1926 to Carl and Carrie Wagner. She attended West High School and graduated in 1943.

On June 10, 1945, Ruth and Darwin Shepard united in marriage. Darwin passed away on August 15, 1988. On August 3, 1996, she married Don Stiles, who passed away in April of 2017.

Ruth is survived by four children Carl (Sarah) Shepard of Bella Vista, AR, Gloria Shepard of The Villages, Florida, Bob (Judi) Shepard of Springfield, MO, and Connie (Jim) Wetz of Des Moines, Iowa; 8 grandchildren: Hannah Higgins, Paul Shepard, Eric Shepard, Danny Shepard, Melissa Osborne, Justin Wetz, Briana Woodworth, and Brady Wetz; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin Shepard; three brothers; her mother and father; and her husband Don Stiles.

Ruth was a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church. She was very active in her church. She loved to sew and work on her computer. Most of all, she LOVED being around family and friends. Heaven gained an extra special Angel.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Walnut Ridge Baptist Church or the family to:
