Loretta K. Talley

Loretta Kathryn Talley, 74, died at the Martin Health Center, in Cedar Falls on March 11th. She was born in Waterloo on October 29, 1945, to Paul and Louise (Wendt) Talley.

Loretta worked as a librarian for 40+ years in Waterloo Community Schools. She enjoyed her colleagues and the monthly gatherings. After her retirement, she volunteered as an assistant librarian, and also the Northeast Iowa Food Bank and Community Meals. Loretta loved books and was an avid reader. She was a loyal member of Community of Christ on Cedar Heights Drive. Loretta loved all the children she came across through the years. She enjoyed the church choir, travel and was part of a travel group, which she was the navigator. Her travel group even celebrated the holidays together. Loretta was a lay minister for the church, office of Teacher, and church secretary in which she kept all the minutes. She studied violin at an early age and was selected to play the violin in the Waterloo Symphony, which was very meaningful for her.

Those survived to cherish memories are many close friends including church and from her travel group.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be directed to Community of Christ.
