Norman Gene Weidman
Norman Gene Weidman, 90, was born on November 19, 1929 in Blackhawk county, to Elmer and Heimka “Marie” (Kabrele) Weidman.
He married Arlene Swan in Hampton in 1948 and was married for 73 years. He worked in the food service for American Black Hawk for about 20 years.
Norman loved to fish and to teach his grandchildren to fish. He loved roses and had a rose garden. Norman also loved working on lawnmowers and did a lawnmower service out of his garage. He would bring stray dogs home; his favorite was Buster. Norman was an amazing family man and loved his grandchildren dearly.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents; sisters; Leona, Verna, Jane, and Florence, and a brother; Cecil. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Arlene; sons, John (Nanette) of Altoona, and Steve of Waterloo; daughters, Ronda (Howard) Fraser of Evansdale, and Connie Kokinos of Ayden, NC; a brother, Delbert (Joann) Weidman of Waterloo; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
