Waterloo — Irvin M. Frost, 47, of Waterloo died Monday, July 19, at Covenant Medical Center of cancer.
He was born Aug. 29, 1951, in Waterloo, son of Leander and Magdalen Schares Frost. He married Tamera Youngblut on Aug. 13, 1988, in Raymond.
Mr. Frost was employed by the U.S, Postal Service in Waterloo for 14 years as a mail handler. He served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army.
Survived by: his wife; a son, Ryan at home; a daughter, Samantha Frost at home; his mother of Gilbertville; six brothers, Merril, Ronald, Anthony and Joseph, all of Gilbertville, Randy of Evansdale and Lee of Littleton; and three sisters, Mary Weber of Gilbertville, and Marlene Cunningham and Helene Reyes, both of Littleton.
Preceded in death by: his father; paternal grandparents, Valentine and Catherine Frost; and maternal grandparents, Peter and Mary Schares.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Catholic Church, Waterloo, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilbertville. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Nugent-Demuth Post 714 of Gilbertville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m, today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with a 7 p.m. Catholic Order of Forester rosary; visitation also 2 to 8 p.m, Thursday at the funeral home with a 3 p.m, rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil.
Memorials: May be directed to the American Cancer Society or Cedar Valley Hospice.
