Arno A. Behrens age 93 of Evansdale, Iowa, died Monday January 6, 2020 at Unity Point Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.

He was born on January 1, 1927 in Coon Rapids Iowa the son of William and Cotta (Mueller) Behrens. He graduated from Coon Rapids High School and served his country in the United States Army until his honorable discharge.

Arno married Kathryn Pittman in Waterloo in 1963 and they were later divorced. He worked as a truck driver for Dahlen Transport for 21 years. He was a lifelong devoted Lutheran and enjoyed going to church services. In his later years Arno enjoyed eating at Junie’s restaurant.

Survivors include a son Gary (Alysa) Behrens of Hudson; three grandchildren; Brett Behrens of Hudson, Shawna (Kevin) Van Heiden of Waterloo, and Joy Cherie (Daniel) Stoner of Waterloo; five great-grandchildren; Elizabeth and Olivia Van Heiden, Ben Juhl, Vanessa Hovey and Dax Stoner; four sisters; Florence Burns of Peoria, IL, Margaret Roach of Spirit Lake, IA, Doris Schults of Texas, and Lois Fillmore of Kansas City, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by two brothers, Harold and William
