Mrs. Johanna Chevalier, 68, died Sunday at 10:20 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Plummer, 335 Sumner street. She had been ill for the past four months following a major operation.
Johanna Baumgartner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Baumgartner, was born March 5, 1876, at Watertown, S. D. She was married to Ernest A. Chevalier in Waterloo Nov. 24, 1896. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church, the Rosary society and the Woman's Catholic order of Foresters. Mr. Chevalier died Dec. 4, 1917.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. H. M. Kurtz, Route 3; Mrs. J. H. Plummer, 335 Sumner street; Mrs. W. J. Mulvaney, Route 1, and Irene Chevalier, at home; one son, Leonard J. Chevalier, 327 Sumner street; one brother, Joseph Baumgartner, 802 Barclay street north; one sister, Mrs. Samuel Boucher, Tomahawk, Wis., and eight grandchildren.
The body is at the residence of her son, 327 Sumner street. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:30 a. m. at St. Mary's Catholic church with Rev. Fr. Bertrand Kock, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic church. La Porte City, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Court No. 399, W. C. O. F., will meet at 8:15 p. m. Tuesday at 327 Sumner street.

Mrs. Chevalier died Sunday. She was born at Watertown, Wis. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:30 a. m. at St. Mary's church.
