—A Waterloo man named Jake Melinger died of blood poisoning resulting from a scratch on his finger gotten on a nail in a cigar box.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Fairview Cemetery and died January 25, 1902. Also that his name is spelled Mellinger.
