Biography--

Roy V. Gorby, age 84 of Waterloo, died Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center.

He was born on March 30, 1935 in Glen Easton, West Virginia, the son of Samuel and Ivy Pearl (Grimm) Gorby.

Roy married Shirley Blanchard on March 5, 1972 in Washburn; she died on August 4, 2010.

He worked as a truck driver for Payless Truckers Inc. for many years. He had also previously worked at Waterloo Lumber and Waterloo Industries.

Survivors include two sons, Buddy Pyle and Chad (Melissa) Gorby both of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Harley, Jocelyn, Karsten, Wyatt, Phoenix, and Jaxon; sister, Shirley Starkey of Moundsville, WV; two step-daughters, Jodie (Richard) Conley of Akron, OH and Lisa Creger of Waterloo; three step-sons, Terry Pyle of Globe, Arizona; Todd (Judy) Owen of Raymond, and Troy Owen of Spring Valley, MN; six step-grandchildren, Jennifer, DJ, Dalton, Ricky, Michael, and Cheyenne; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; two brothers; and seven sisters.
