Biography
David Sar Moore, 76, of Waterloo, formerly of La Porte City, died Monday, December 9, 2019 at his home.
He was born May 19, 1943 in Essex the son of Ivan and Anna “Margaret” Sar Moore.
He graduated from Essex Public Schools.
David married Barbara Ann Barrett on September 17, 1960 in Clarinda.
David was a manager for People’s Natural Gas in La Porte City for many years. He worked as a service technician for Steamfitters Local 464 in Omaha, Nebraska for sixteen years, retiring August 1, 2012.
He had been an active member of Living Faith Church of the Nazarene in Ralston, Nebraska, Lions Club and Kiwanis Club. David enjoyed spending time with family, camping, fishing, playing cards and games.
Survived by: his wife, Barbara of Waterloo; two daughters, Dorothy “Dottie” (Rodney) Roy of Grand Marais, MN, Deenie (Danny) Higgins of La Porte City; four grandchildren, Christine “Christie” (Ashley) Curtis of Grand Marais, MN, Amy (Kyle) Kriz of Dysart, Mark (Alisa) Higgins of Cedar Falls, Breana Roy of Grand Marais, MN; three great grandchildren, Kash and Addison “Addie” Kriz of Dysart and Axton Curtis of Grand Marais, MN; two sisters, Harriett Huffman of Texas and Carolyn (Elwin) Waggoner of Michigan; one sister-in-law, Judy Drake of Papillion, Nebraska and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: his parents and two sisters, Ruth Johnson and Barbara Cruikshank.
