Mark Steven Knief
Mark Steven Knief was born on January 2nd, 1955 in Waterloo, Iowa to Harold and Grace Knief.
He died on November 28, 2019 at Allen Hospital, in Waterloo, Iowa, surrounded by his family.
He grew up in Evansdale, Iowa; he was the youngest of five children. He graduated from Waterloo East High in 1973. He was a man who was loved, and loved a lot. He played football, and golf in high school. He coached Optimist baseball. He enjoyed teaching his children, and grandchildren about bowling, football, baseball and golf. He loved to fish, hunt, golf, bowl, and playing cards with his friends. Loved yelling at the TV during his beloved Yankees, Bears, and Hawkeyes games.
He married the love of his life Jacque on April 15, 1988. He thought world of his wife and cherished all their wonderful years together. He was the father of three children, Charisse, Michael, and Elizabeth. He had four grandchildren, Jordan, Brandon Annie, and Christopher. His great-grandson Wyatt.
He co-owned and co-operated K&W Sausage company with his wife Jacque. He was well known in the community as “The Polish Man” He loved his work, and was very proud of all he accomplished with the business he ran with his wife.
He was a man who loved everyone, in a big way. He fiercely loved his family. If he loved you he loved you for life, and you knew just how much you were loved. He was a man who always had a joke or story to tell, and he had a undeniable laugh.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, he loved singing the traditional hymns, and hearing the service. He loved and knew God well.
He loved his precious so much dogs, Prince, Duke, and Lou have all gone before him, and were waiting for him. Henry joined his life months ago, and they were so close.
He is survived by his wife Jacque, his children, grandchildren, great grandson, His brother Larry (Martha), and his sisters Connie, Candy (Roger), and Grace (Lou), many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, whom he loved so much. His treasured Aunt Isobelle, his great-grandson baby Jackson, his nephew Sean, and his brother-in-law Terry Leicher, and so many others whom are loved, and missed.
The list of people who loved him, and were loved by him is long. He would want us to smile, and remember him laughing, loving, and living.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to River Hills School.
Family Directed Service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019.
