Bruce Allen Zeien

February 20, 1980 - October 20, 2019

Bruce Allen Zeien, 39, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, October 20, 2019.

He was born February 20, 1980 in Independence, Iowa, son of Peter and Lucinda Lauer Zeien.

Bruce is preceded in death by: his grandparents, James “Apples” and Thelma Lauer and Henry and Lottie Zeien; two forever friends, Eugene Harding and Jeff Widmann.

He is survived by: his loving wife, Kimberlee, of 16 years, his two children, Jaden and Rilee and Bruno “Fatman”; his father, Peter (Charis) Zeien; his mother, Lucinda Moore; his sister, Sherry (Matthew) Davis. He is lovingly remembered by his God daughter, Sophia Murry, his God sons, Hunter Widman and Zeke Lascano, along with his two nephews, Brennan and Phyper Davis whom he is very proud of.

Bruce loved all things outdoors, fishing, camping, hunting and hiking. He was our Mr. fix it. So long as it was not his own stuff he seemed to allways get the job done. He really enjoyed helping people, from strangers he would meet to friends he has known his whole life.

A member of Local 89 United Iron Workers, he enjoyed a long history of working outdoors doing everything from landscaping to erecting steel. He could operate any equipment you would find on a construction site, always joking he knew where the keys were hid.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 25, at Orchard Hill Church, Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 24, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and at the church for an hour before services on Friday.
