Services for Leonard C. Dirkes, 66, of 201 Lamont St; will be 11am Tuesday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Evansdale, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

He died early Saturday at St. Francis Hospital.

Mr. Dirkes was born April 27, 1916 in Two Inlets, Minn, son of Mike and Anna Wilhelm Dirkes. He married Margaret Geater Oct. 12, 1928, in Waterloo.

He was employed at Rath Packing Co. for 27 years.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Irene Engell and Mrs. Ruth Rowe, both of Waterloo; two sons, James of 201 Lamont St. and Donald of 905 Lafayette St; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Rose Lothspeich of Fargo N.D, Alma Winey of Brainerd, Minn. and Mrs. Ann Flickinger of 428 Mitchell Ave.; and four brothers, Norbert Dirkes and Alfred Dirkes, both of Springfield, Ore., Mike Dirkes of Hazleton and Edward Dirkes of Waterloo.

A scripture service will be 7 p.m. Monday at Oppold Funeral Home, where friends may call after 1 p.m.
