Mary Louise Meier (1931-2019)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Mary Louise Meier, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, September 20, 2019, at her home.

She was born June 25, 1931, in Waterloo, Iowa, daughter of John and Kathryn (Swift) Billick. She married Donald E. Meier on October 16, 1954 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on June 17, 2017.

She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1949 and was employed as a head cook in the John Deere cafeteria and SAC 218.

Survived by: four daughters, Kathy Meier of Cedar Falls, Susan Posekany of Woodburn, Cyndy (Mark) Abben of Hudson, and Karen Sellers of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Anna and Tesia Posekany, Christy and Lucas Abben; a brother, Kenneth Billick of Waterloo; a sister-in-law, Marlene Reiter of Washburn; and a niece, Jill (Mark) Baethke.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Louise Meier; a brother, John Billick; and a niece, Judy Billick.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24th at St. John Lutheran Church with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23rd at Richardson Funeral Service and also for one hour prior to the service at the church.
