Train Kills Four Year Old Boy

Waterloo, Aug. 1 – While playing in front of his home, 1212 Broadway, Clifford Braden, four years old, was run over by an Illinois Central switch train and instantly killed at 1 p.m. yesterday.

The accident occurred twenty feet from the front door of the Braden home on the I. C. spur at the intersection of Broadway and Parker Streets. The train was in charge of Engineer Charles Fawcett and switch foreman M. C. Joyce.

It was stated at the scene of the accident that those in charge did not see the child until after the entire train consisting of eight or nine cars, had passed directly over his chest.
