Richard A. “Dick” Wald, 84, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at MercyOne Medical Center Waterloo. He was born April 22, 1935, in Menomonie, Wisconsin, the son of Wilbur and Mary Hobbick Wald.

Dick married Marjorie Erickson on June 26, 1953 in Durand, Wisconsin; she preceded him in death on January 29, 2011.

He owned and operated Dick Wald Cars and also multiple Storage Units.

Dick was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Waterloo for 60 years. He recently celebrated 50 years in AA, was avid golfer, traveled to Arizona for two months every year and enjoyed walking at the mall every day. His diligent loving care for his wife was a witness to his family and friends.

He is survived by three daughters: Sharon (Dave) Ellingson of Webster City, Wendy (Dave) Beare of Sioux Falls, SD, Becky (Jeff) Aegerter of Sioux Falls, SD; by eight grandchildren: Andy (Angie) Ellingson of Bettendorf, IA, Pete (Liz) Ellingson of Centennial, CO, Ben (Alicia) Ellingson of Libertyville, IL, Dustin (Talina) Beare of Fayetteville, AR, Kristen (Jeremy) Chipperfield of Sioux Falls, SD, Brandon (Cassie) Aegerter of Sioux Falls, SD, Daintry (Nate) TenNapel of Sioux Falls, SD, Kelcie (Nathan) Hollingsworth of Alcoa, TN; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife.
