Biography

Georgeann Cole, age 56, of Waterloo, Iowa died Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes.

She was born on June 21, 1963 in Waterloo, the daughter of George and Charlean (Wright) Cole.

She graduated from Waterloo East High School with the Class of 1981. She was very athletic during her high school years. Georgeann excelled in track, holding school records for many years. She was also involved in basketball and softball.

Georgeann was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of Community Southern Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, John Sailor Jr. of Waterloo; daughter, Lorrice (Treymone) Thomas of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, Jazmine Sailor, John Sailor III, Imara Miller, Sidney Sailor, Kaysen Sailor, Isaiah Thomas, and Elijah Thomas; six sisters, Frankie Boehmer of Durant, MS, Ida “Pula” Roby, Mary Ann Reed, Sandy (David) Bivens, Mattie “Teenie” Cole, and Sheila Cole all over Waterloo; and two brothers, George Cole Jr. and Ray (Regina) Cole both of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Rev. Robert Wright and James Edward Cole.
