Biography--

Evelyn F. Klein Gibson, 95, died Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born June 27, 1924, near Hamburg, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Fannie Wilkerson Klein. A graduate of Hamburg High School, she attended Peru State Teacher's College, Peru, NE, and Northwestern Bible College, Minneapolis, MN.

Evelyn and Robert B. Gibson were married June 16, 1948, at First Baptist Church in Hamburg. Bob preceded her in death on October 20, 2013. She accepted Christ as Savior when 11 years old, and was a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church at the time of her death.

Evelyn taught school in Auburn, NE, and substituted briefly in Butler, IN and Cedar Falls, IA. For several years she prepared Primary Teachers' Manuals and Sunday School Workbooks for Higley Press. She worked for Bible Tracts, Inc., and retired from Agape Therapy in 2002.

She found great satisfaction in writing poetry and creating memory albums. Evelyn enjoyed editing a company newsletter for Agape Therapy, and also prepared a missionary newsletter for Walnut Ridge Baptist Church for 37 years.

Survived by two sons and their wives: Paul and Donna Gibson of Cedar Falls, IA, and David and Barbara Gibson of Broken Bow, NE; four grandchildren, Jonathan Gibson, Michael Gibson, Zachery Izer-Gibson and Jessica Baker; 9 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and two step-great-granddaughters; and a sister, Wilma Kelly, of Glenwood, IA.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; one granddaughter, Nicole Gibson; one great-grandson, Dylan Izer-Gibson; and her sister, Margaret Rose.

Monday, July 1, 2019 at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, 1307 W. Ridgeway Ave. in Waterloo

burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery
