Biography--
Jean M. “Jeano” Post, 92, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Thursday, June 13, 2019 at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Jean was born August 6, 1926, in Rock Rapids, Lyon County, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Melinda (Oldenburg) Wohlers.
She graduated from Rock Rapids High School in 1944. Jean continued her education at Coe College before transferring to Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) where she received her elementary education degree in 1948.
She married Robert Post on August 22, 1949, in Lincoln, NE; he preceded her in death on March 2, 2008.
Jean was a teacher at Head Start for over 30 years until retiring in 1988. Upon retirement, she would substitute teach at Small World Preschool.
Survived by her son, David (Debbie) Post of Waterloo; two daughters, Melinda (Paul) Huting of Waterloo and Keely (Tim) Swope of Elk Run Heights; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson; and brother, Robert Wohlers.
Jean loved flowers, gardening, and yardwork. She enjoyed playing cards, needle work, listening to music, being outside and spending time with family and friends.
