Colonel McClure Dead.
Colonel William H. McClure died in the hospital at Independence and the remains were taken to his home in Cedar Falls.
Funeral services were held In St Luke's Episcopal church Members of the G. A. R. post attended In a body. The remarkable character of Colonel McClure is worthy of note.
He was the first lawyer to practice in Black Hawk county, arriving In Cedar Falls in 1855. He published the first newspaper in that city and was one of the earliest postmasters. Besides his wife he left four children.
