Bernard Charles Graham

Bernard “Bernie” Graham was born on September 13, 1958. Son of Arthur and Maybeth (Dremann). He was the oldest of five siblings. He had an adventurous childhood and an extraordinary life. He had a love for the outdoors. Often going for walks, to festivals, local Farmers Markets and riding his three wheel bike.

He was competitive at UNO and bowling, rarely losing a game of UNO. Though he wanted to win, he would never stop cheering everyone on. To him, everyone winning would be his choice outcome. He wore his heart on his sleeve, always caring and concerned for everyone he cared about as well as always lending a helping hand.

His smile was the first thing you’d notice about him. One thing guaranteed to make him smile was Mt.Dew. He looked forward to going to a movie every weekend so he could have a regular Mt.Dew, forgetting that diet Mt.Dew existed for a day. He loved Mt.Dew so much that every Friday he and his girlfriend would wear matching Mt.Dew shirts.

He formed many close friendships while in the care of Exceptional Persons Inc and while pridefully employed at Ferguson, including a special bond he formed with one of his support staff, Kim Bumgardner. He enjoyed many fun filled road trips with her, his most memorable being able to see his favorite band, Alabama, in concert twice. He knew every word to every song.

When not working hard, independently, at his job or outdoors, you would find Bernie journaling, writing notes to cheer others up and putting on concerts in the shower (wow could he sing!) He also always looked forward to spending holidays with his family. To know Bernie was to love him.

Bernie passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 18th, 2019 at Pinnacle Care.

He was preceded in death by his father. Bernie is survived by his mother; brothers, Merlon (Deborah) Graham, Joseph Graham; sisters, Sandy (Gary) Acuff, Patricia Graham; many nieces and nephews, and his girlfriend Stacy Magnuson.
