U.S. VETERAN

Timothy John Kramer, age 69, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at his home.

He was born December 7, 1949 in Waterloo, the son of John George and Mary “Rozella” Harrington Kramer. Tim graduated from Waterloo Columbus High School with the Class of 1968 and earned an Associate degree in Nursing from Hawkeye Community College in 1985.

Tim was united in marriage with Diane Marie Koch on April 29, 1978, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raymond. Diane preceded him in death on April 2, 2011. Tim was a Veteran of the US Navy serving on the PG 84 USS Asheville and VF1 F14 Fighter Plane Squadron during the Vietnam War.

Tim was a Registered Nurse at the Black Hawk County Health department for 20 years and also worked as a part time nurse at the former Parkview Gardens Care Center for 3 years. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and enjoyed working on home improvement projects, making stained glass and a good card game. In recent years he has enjoyed traveling all over the world.

Survivors include his son, Adam Kramer of Waterloo; three brothers: Mike (Becky) Kramer of Waukon, IA., Paul (Robyn) Kramer of Apple Valley, MN., and Mark Kramer of Farmington, MN.; a sister, Mary Ann (Bill) Judd of La Porte City, IA.; numerous nieces and nephews and his two cats, Marty and Sadie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Diane and a nephew, Clay Kramer.

Services:
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2019 at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1423 Kimball Avenue in Waterloo.

Cemetery:
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Raymond with Full Military Honors accorded by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31, Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and the US Navy Honors Detail.
