Marjorie Penne (1938-2016)

WATERLOO, IOWA — Marjorie Joyce Immel Penne, 78, of Oklahoma, and formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2016.

She was born June 16, 1938, in Charles City, daughter of Harold L. and Virginia R. Immel. She married Ronald Penne on Sept. 5, 1954. He preceded her in death.

Marjorie worked as a seamstress for many years. She was the finisher at Petra Furs for 14 years. While working there she found a friend who started REGAP Greyhound Adoptions, and has worked with several adoption groups making coats for retired greyhounds for more than 20 years. Marjorie moved to Oklahoma in 1994 and worked for a furrier in Oklahoma City as finisher.

Survived by: a son, Scott (Linda); a daughter, Katherina (Mike) Costello; two grandsons, Ryan (Tory) Costello and Randy Hess; three granddaughters, Courtney, Amanda and Belinda Penne; three great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters.

Preceded in death by: her parents; and two sons, Steven Lee and Harry Ronald.

Memorial and Eastern Star service: 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, in the Poole Chapel at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. John Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, Okla., is assisting the family. Condolences may be left at johnirelandfuneralhome.com.

Marjorie was a beautiful person; she loved anything to do with her family. We always knew we could depend on her for anything.
