Delilah K. Herink, age 87, died Monday, April 1, 2019 at her home.

She was born June 18, 1931 in her grandmother’s home near Martinstown, Missouri, the daughter of Clifford and Ruth (Mills) Bland. Delilah graduated from Waterloo West High School with the Class of 1949. She was united in marriage with Charles William Herink on November 5, 1949 in Kirksville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2012.

Delilah worked for a time as a housekeeper at a local motel and also sold Sara Coventry Jewelry, but mostly was a stay at home mom. She loved all types of crafting including knitting, crocheting, painting rocks, making porcelain dolls, sewing dresses and making doll clothing. She was very fond of her two pet cats Angel and Gracie.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathie (Al) Johnson and a son, David Herink, all of Waterloo; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren and another on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2012; a great grandson, Treston; a daughter-in-law, Kim Herink in 2017; and a brother and sister-in-law, Hubert (Betty) Bland.
