WATERLOO, IOWA -- Sharon Kay Kisner, 71, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Dec. 30, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics after a lengthy illness.
She was born March 11, 1946, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Lyle and Helen Nesheim Scarff. She married Ronald Kisner on July 8, 1965, in Waterloo; he preceded her in death.
She spent the majority of her life working as a teacher’s aide at Head Start in Waterloo.
Survived by: two sons, Ronald Jr. of Fort Dodge and James of Des Moines; two daughters, Shari Hampton and Tammie Kisner, both of Waterloo; two grandchildren she raised, Breanna Kisner (Suad) and Brittany Kisner; 10 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Trent of Cedar Falls.
Preceded in death by: her parents; and five great-grandchildren.
Services: 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at Countryside Vineyard Church, Evansdale. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories assisted the family with the cremation.
Sharon will be remembered for the love and compassion that she held for her family and friends.
