Benj. F. Eberhart, a well known citizen of Blackhawk county, fell suddenly in the office Congressman Birdsall at Hampton last Sunday, and lapsing into consciousness died 15 hours later. He was widely known in politics throughout the state, having been quartermaster at Iowa Soldiers’ Home for eight years, and Sergeant at Arms in the state senate while Buren R. Sherman was governor.
