A SAD DEATH. —The news of the sudden death at Dysart of Mrs. W. P. Pierce, formerly Miss Tina Brown, daughter of W. F. Brown of this city, was a great shock to all her friends here.

On the 20th she gave birth to a child, and reports from Dysart had been to the effect that she was doing well. A postal dated Saturday was received by Mr. Brown, stating that she was still improving, and a few hours afterwards came the news of her death, which occurred Sunday afternoon. The immediate cause was congestive chills.

The funeral was held at Mr. Brown's residence Tuesday afternoon and was largely attended, and the exercises were deeply impressive and affecting. Rev. E. N. Barrett officiated.

The deceased had grown up here from childhood, and had won for herself a warm place in the affections of her acquaintances. She was married Feb. 21,1884 and it is indeed sad to think the new life so happily begun then has been so suddenly ended.

This, we believe, is the fourth death in Mr. Brown's family in the last few years, and the expressions of sympathy for himself and family are many and heartfelt.
