Marlene Kae Arbaugh, age 68, of Webster City and formerly of La Porte City, Iowa, died Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

She was born January 20, 1951 in La Porte City, the daughter of Robert and Rose (Herold) Harkness. Marlene graduated from La Porte City High School with the Class of 1969 and attended technical college in Minneapolis where she obtained lab technician training. She was united in marriage with Rick S. Arbaugh on March 10, 1973 in La Porte City.

Marlene worked for several years as a lab technician at the hospital in Fort Dodge and was a homemaker. She treasured time spent with her family and also enjoyed crocheting.

Survivors include her husband, Rick; two sons, Bryan and Joseph (Angie) Arbaugh, all of Webster City; five grandchildren: Katie Tague, Jenniqua Arbaugh, Jacob Arbaugh, Nicole Arbaugh and Justin Arbaugh; one great-grandchild, Lucian Tague; three sisters: Lorraine (Darryl) McFarland of La Porte City, Ruth (Russell) Richards of Lorena, TX and Doris (Bruce) Parker of La Porte City; seven brothers: Tim (Sue) Harkness of Dubuque, Franklyn Harkness and Kenneth (Elena) Harkness, all of La Porte City, Tony (Kay) Harkness of Crowley, TX, Joseph Harkness of Lorena, TX, Robin Harkness of Cedar Falls and David (Debra) Harkness of La Porte City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
