PARKERSBURG, Iowa - Helen Bertha LaForest, 92, of Parkersburg, formerly of Lincoln Park, Mich., died Wednesday, Aug. 31, at the Western Home, Cedar Falls, of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 9, 1913, in Bay City, Mich., daughter of Thomas and Hattie Hamme Tackaberry. She married Arthur Herman Lipkea in May 1931, in California. He died in 1942. She then married Arthur Joseph LaForest Nov. 26, 1953, in Elkhart, Ind. He died in 1995.

She attended secretarial school and was employed as a secretary for Wyandotte Chemical Co.

Survived by: two sons, William (Pat) Lipkea of New Hartford and Thomas (Janet) Lipkea of Byron Center, Mich.; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Hilda Tackaberry of St. Clair, Mich.

Preceded in death by: three brothers, Fredrick in infancy, and Harry and Lawrence "Bill" Tackaberry; and three sisters, Marie, Grace and Marian Tackaberry, all in childhood.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, Parkersburg, with committal services and burial at 2 p.m. Sept. 8 in Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery, Flat Rock, Mich. Friends may call for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg, is in charge of arrangements.
