Biography--

Helen Katherine Barnett, 95, of Denver, Colorado, formerly of Waterloo, died in Denver, Colorado November 30, 2010.

She was born November 11, 1915 in Ohio, Illinois. She married Edward Franklin Barnett January 7, 1932 in Princeton, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1994.

Before moving to Colorado fourteen years ago, Helen spent most of her life in Waterloo. She worked at Allen Hospital for many years as an instrument technician in surgery, and later did the scheduling of surgeries for surgeons. After retiring, she was a volunteer in the heart surgery wing.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Curphy; a son, Jerry Barnett; two brothers, Clark and Orin Heuer; two sisters, Eleanor Rici and Dorothy Anderson; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband; and a son, Martin Barnett.

Private family memorial services will be Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the hospice of the donor's choice, colon cancer, or the Humane Society.

Her dedication and love for her family will forever be remembered. All she asked is that everyone spend a moment reflecting on the many blessings in their lives.
