Dakodda Chadd "Kodi" Grimm

November 9, 1992 - September 7, 2018

Dakodda Chadd “Kodi” Grimm, 25, of Washburn, died Friday, September 7, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

He was born November 9, 1992, in Waterloo, son of Chad and Constance (Herman) Grimm. He married Anna Osmundson on December 19, 2015, in Cedar Falls.

Dakodda had a passion for culinary arts and was always employed in the food industry, most recently as a manager at Olive Garden. This love for food led him to the love of his life, Anna, who he met while working at Red Lobster.

He was an avid violinist, loved playing video games, and was proud of the fact he was the tallest of five gents. The greatest accomplishment of his life was being a husband and father. He had a heart as big as he was and was very protective of the people around him.

Survivors include: his wife Anna and their son, Cooper Wyatt; his parents; four brothers, Michael, William, Jonathan and Andrew Grimm all of Waterloo; maternal grandparents, Richard and Kathleen Herman of Huxley; paternal grandparents, Richard and Joan Grimm of Waterloo; father-in-law Joel (Terry) Osmundson of Washburn; mother-in-law, Chanel Hoppe of Waterloo and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a cousin, Alexandria Grimm and an uncle, Nathaniel Herman.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 12 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on 300 West Ridgeway with private family burial at a later date. Public Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and will continue for one hour before services on Wednesday.
