Dr. Jack Dale Wilkinson, Sr.

January 27, 1931 - September 3, 2018

Dr. Jack Dale Wilkinson, Sr., 87, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, September 3, 2018, at the Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly, Iowa.

He was born January 27, 1931 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Lester and Pansy (Collins) Wilkinson. Jack married Carole Johnson on June 7, 1953 in Ottumwa. He earned his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) and his PhD. from Iowa State University. Jack was a professor in the Math Education Department for 49 years at UNI, retiring in 2010.

He is survived by his wife, Carole Wilkinson, of Cedar Falls; his son, Walter Milton (Karen) Wilkinson, of Plano, Texas; his three daughters, Laura Joyce (Jeffrey) Flicker of Silver Spring, Maryland, Leslie Jane (David) Brandt of Rochester, Minnesota and Martha Beth Wilkinson of Greene, Iowa; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jack Dale Wilkinson, Jr., and his stepfather, Larry Wallen.

Services will be private, with a public service at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the William Lang Memorial Scholarship Fund at UNI or the UNI Panther Scholarship Club. Online Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
