Independence, Iowa – Regina K. Reedy, 63 years old, of Independence,died on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born on October 11, 1954, in Independence, the daughter of Richard Louis and Maxine (Schwer) Straw. She graduated from high school in Independence with the Class of 1973. She was married to Robert Andrew Reedy in San Diego, California. They later divorced. Mrs. Reedy enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially the Cubs, Hawkeyes, and Packers, and the Walking Dead.

Mrs. Reedy is survived by a daughter, Anita Shannon of Waterloo, Iowa; two sons, Brandon Reedy of Waterloo, and Porter Straw-Reedy of Charles City, Iowa; and by four grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Beverly Callaghan of Independence, and Amanda (Aaron) James of Oelwein, Iowa, and by a brother, Mark Straw of Center Point, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Summer Reedy; a brother-in-law; and by a sister-in-law.

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence with Rev. Greg DeBoer officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence. Friends may call for visitation from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, August 13th, at the White Funeral Home in Independence.
