Julie Ann (Davis) Jolley

Julie Ann (Davis) Jolley was born on December 1, 1949, to Eugene Carvel and Betty (Linnell) Davis in Long Beach, California. The family moved to Holiday, Utah where she attended Hillview Elementary. Julie also attended Olympus Middle School and graduated from Olympus High School. She continued her education by completing one year of nursing school at Utah Trade Tech.

Julie met the love of her life, Royal Jolley, and the two were married on September 14, 1970 at the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. The couple moved to Waterloo and established their home and family. Julie was a wonderful mother to her six sons and a homemaker.

Julie loved to crochet, reading, and loved baking her Juju bread especially with her grandchildren. She was an avid member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and worked tirelessly in the Relief Society organization. Julie was a compassionate and caring individual who loved spending time with her family and the many other individuals to whom she was a mother. She was deeply loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Julie Ann Jolley died on August 4, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Wayne Davis; a sister: Diane Davis; and a sister-in-law: JoAnn Call Davis.

Julie is survived by her husband of almost 48 years, Royal Jolley; by six sons: Nathan (Nicole) of Seattle, Washington, Jeremy (Niki) of Waterloo, Andrew “Andy” (Susie) of Waterloo, Christopher “Chris” (Lisa) of Ames, Michael (Jamie) of Manchester, and Eric (Darcy) of Waterloo. She is also survived by a brother Richard “Rick” (Leslie) Davis, and her 20 beloved grandchildren -- ten grandsons and ten granddaughters.

NOTES: Her funeral was held on Friday, August 10, 2018, at the LDS Chapel in Cedar Falls. Burial was in the Poyner Cemetery east of Waterloo, in rural Black Hawk county.
