Evelyn G. Kosnar Noe

October 27, 1918 to September 24, 2011

Evelyn Gail Noe was born October 27, 1918, on a farm in rural Dysart, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Agnes Toni Chudlic Kosnar. She started her schooling in the Dysart and Traer schools then moved with her family to Grand Junction, Colorado, where she graduated from Fruitvale High School.

She continued her education at Ross Business College in Grand Junction, Colorado, and then worked at Farmers Savings Bank in Traer from 1939-1942.

On January 8, 1942, Evelyn was united in marriage to Cleo Jacob Noe at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. After their marriage they lived in rural Hudson, Iowa, where her husband owned and operated Noe's Service Station.

In 1972 they moved to Toledo, Iowa where she continued to make her home after Cleo's death on February 24, 1976. In 1994 she returned to an apartment in Traer until June 13, 2001 when she entered the Sunrise Hill Care Center where her death came on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at the age of 92 years.

Evelyn was an active member of the Ripley United Church of Christ and also volunteered at the nursing home for many years. Other free times were spent, bowling, playing basketball, volleyball and biking. She also enjoyed gardening and adding to her owl collection, most all she loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Cleo; two sons, Floyd Donald Noe and Sidney Vernon Noe; by a daughter, Lois Philp; and by one brother, Frank Vernon Kosnar.

She is survived by one daughter, Irene M. Moran of Toledo;, by seven grandchildren; and by 15 great-grandchildren.
