CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Goldie Mae Reel Mueterthies, 83, of Cedar Falls died Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born June 25, 1934, in Cabin Creek, West Virginia, daughter of Zachary and Letha (Bledsoe) Easterling. She married Robert Reel on March 21, 1954 in Santa Ana, CA. He preceded her in death on August 21, 1964. She then married Leon Mueterthies on December 28, 1965 in Grundy Center.

She served in the U.S. Marines from 1952 to 1954 and graduated from Pixies Beauty School.

Survived by: her husband of Cedar Falls; two sons, Robert (Uriah) Reel-Bohrer of Des Moines, and Glen Reel of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Lana (Lance) Floy of Waterloo; daughter-in-law, Lena Mueterthies of Ames; seven grandchildren: Stephanie (Shawn) Hohenzy, Shanna Floy, Alesha (Logan) Wiegmann, Ashley Reel, Jaz Mueterthies, Skylar and Zachary Mueterthies.

She was preceded in death by a son, Scott Mueterthies; a sister, Jewel Click; and five brothers: Chester, Glen, Teddy, Donald and Billy Easterling.

Memorial Services: 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 8 at Richardson Funeral Service with inurnment in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
