Valeria was employed at Rath Packing Co. as a stenographer and later at Waterloo Community Schools for many years, retiring as an administrative secretary. She was a faithful, active member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waterloo and was an avid quilter who loved to sew with her quilting sisters at church.

Valeria liked to cook for her family and also one of the famous “Grace Pie Ladies” known for her delicious homemade pies. She was a fan of Iowa State and Iowa sports, the Chicago Cubs, enjoyed playing cards with cousins and church friends and fishing for trout in northeast Iowa. Most of all, Valeria was a dedicated wife and mother, who treasured time spent with her family. She left an indelible mark on the lives of those she touched and loved.
