September 12, 1935 - April 22, 2018

Carol Ann Jorgensen, 82, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Unity Point Health Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born September 12, 1935, in Audubon, Iowa the daughter of Peter and Lois (Mead) Olsen. Carol married Harris Jorgensen in 1958. She attended Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greely with a degree in teaching in 1957. Carol taught elementary school before opening a Scandinavian shop.

She cherished her Danish heritage and was a member of the National Danish Sisterhood Lodge. Carol was a founding board member of the National Danish Immigrant Museum (now the Museum of Danish America). She was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church and later Zion Lutheran Church and had a steadfast Christian faith.

She is survived by her husband, Harris Jorgensen, of Cedar Falls; three sons: Holt (Donna) Jorgensen of Rockwall, Texas, Joel (Carrie) Jorgensen, of Middlebury, Connecticut, and Paul Jorgensen, of New Hope, Minnesota; two daughters, Julie Jorgensen (Tom) Micheletti, of Wayzata, Minnesota, and Diane (David) Eaton, of Deephaven, Minnesota; nine grandchildren, Ryan Ridgeway, Hunter Jorgensen, Peter, Dane, and Holt Jorgensen, Daniel and John Eaton, Signe and Kai Brewster; two great grandchildren, Charlie and Lydia Eaton, and one brother, Paul (Kathleen) Olsen, of Alpine, Minnesota.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Alan Olsen.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2018, at the Western Home in Diamond Event Center, Jorgensen Plaza, 5313 Caraway Lane. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Friday. Memorials may be directed to the Museum of Danish America Immigrants.
